As the podcasting industry continues to thrive, it's important to acknowledge the pioneers who played a significant role in its growth. One such pioneer was Stitcher, which emerged in 2008 as a VC-funded playback service. Back then, it was referred to as an "internet radio service," a term that now feels outdated to say the least.
A little about Stitcher :
Stitcher, the brainchild of Noah Shanok, Mike Ghaffary, and Peter deVroede, came into existence in 2008. Deezer acquired Stitcher, marking a significant milestone in its journey.
